The Gate Of Truth

World

A purple desert planet — desolate, dry, open, low oxygen. Deceptive distances. Mirages in every direction. The gate sits in mountains that have never been breached or climbed by any being native to Mirrori — unreachable from within the world itself.

Veil

The unexpected opposite of an open desert world is enclosed, suffocating darkness. No open horizon. No reliable distance. Light exists — but it is sourceless and inverted: palest lavender at the apex, deepening to absolute darkness at ground level. The earth beneath is a massive tessellated network of desiccation cracks — parched polygonal plates of pale bleached earth pulled apart from itself, with shadows in every crack indistinguishable from fissures up to twelve feet wide and eight feet deep. No stars. No sky. No atmosphere. On the distant horizon: a single crystalline pillar of pulsing light — the only orientation point in any direction. Sound does not travel. Voices flatten and drop within ten feet. Nothing reflects correctly.

Gate

The Gate of Truth demands the diminishment of self-deception as the condition of passage — not as a philosophical exercise, but as a Solbreth requirement. Each layer of false self that falls away is a layer of Solbreth built. The gate does not open for the one who has argued well. It opens for the one who has become more truthful than they were upon entering.

Beings

The Ghyrasedhi. Upon entrance into the veil, twelve mirrors manifest automatically — each corresponding to a specific character flaw, each presenting its accusation in the voice of the one who entered. The mirrors do not wait. They do not negotiate. They work through the one inside them whether that one is ready or not. The mechanism of release is not quiet acceptance — it is the breaking point. The exasperation of genuine self-reckoning expressed aloud. When that threshold is reached, the mirror shatters. All twelve must shatter before the gate can be approached.

Challenge

Twelve mirrors stand between the entrance to the veil and the gate itself. Each one must be shattered — not reasoned with, not escaped, not endured in silence. The full interior accounting of the self, mirror by mirror, until nothing false remains standing.
